The Crusaders, who posted a 14-4 record and finished third in the GNAC this fall, will play as many as six exhibition matches, while also touring historic and cultural sights in China between June 7 and June 18.
Samantha Hutchinson is the sixth player in GNAC history to earn AVCA first team honors and all six have played for Western Washington University. She was a second team pick last year.
A quick start was not enough as the Seawolves lost to second-seed BYU-Hawaii. The Vikings were eliminated by Sonoma State and the Wildcats fell to CSU San Bernardino.
UAA will play defending champion and No. 2 seed BYU-Hawaii. GNAC champion Western Washington will take on fourth-seed Sonoma State and Central Washington will face top-seed Cal State San Bernardino.
Both players are repeat selections from last year. Kayla Erickson earned first team honors a year ago, while Samantha Hutchinson was a second team selection in 2012.
