SPU, CWU To Represent GNAC In NCAA VB Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular-season champion Seattle Pacific and runner-up Central Washington will represent the conference in the 2023 NCAA West Region Volleyball Championships, with the field being announced by the NCAA on Monday afternoon.

The Falcons (22-4) earned the No. 5 seed and will take on No. 4 seed Cal State LA (18-10) in the opening round, which will be hosted by Cal State San Bernardino. Central Washington (20-6) claimed the No. 7 seed among the regional field and will take on No. 2 seed Cal State San Bernardino (24-4).

SPU won its fourth GNAC title and first since 2011, going 16-2 in conference play during the 2023 campaign to secure the conference’s automatic berth into the regional championship. Central Washington made it 10 consecutive seasons advancing to the NCAA tournament, finishing with a league record of 14-4 and entering the postseason on an eight-match winning streak.

First round games are set for Nov. 30 at Coussoulis Arena, with live coverage available at www.ncaa.com.
