ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Sixth-seed Seattle Pacific used a 27-6 run in the first half to cruise to a 77-62 victory over third-seed Humboldt State in the NCAA West Region quarterfinals at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

The Falcons will face No. 7 Cal Poly Pomona Saturday at 5 p.m. Alaskan. Cal Poly Pomona beat two-seed Cal State Dominguez Hills 61-57 the game following the Falcons.

The first half was dominated by the Falcons who shot 41.9 percent from the field while holding the Lumberjacks to 26.0 percent shooting.

Aubree Callen led Seattle Pacific with 16 points and nine assists while Betsy Kingma added 13 points with two three-pointers.

The Falcons were down 10-8 after the first five minutes of play, but got a boost off the bench from Jordan McPhee who scored six points while adding a block and two steals in three minutes.

After taking the lead on a McPhee three-pointer with 13:55 left, SPU never looked back outscoring the Lumberjacks 34-14 the rest of the half for a 45-24 lead at the break.

Suzanna Ohlsen added 12 points and McPhee ended with 11 to close out the Falcons first tournament win since 2010.

The Lumberjacks were led by Danielle Gaumer who had 12 points and five steals. Fellow senior Kersey Wilcox added 10 points and seven assists.

This is the second time this season the Falcons beat the Lumberjacks, also taking an 83-74 overtime victory in early November at the Sodexo Tip-Off Classic in Seattle.
