PORTLAND, Ore. - Three GNAC stars were named to one of the two Daktronics 2015 West Region basketball teams Friday.

GNAC Player of the Year, Simon Fraser's Erin Chambers, was named to the first team as was GNAC Newcomer of the Year Megan Mullings from Alaska Anchorage. Academic All-American of the Year, Suzanna Ohlsen from Seattle Pacific, was also named to the Daktronics second team.

Chambers was the nation’s third leading scorer this year at 23.5 points per game. The forward became the GNAC’s all-time scoring leader earlier this year, finishing her career with 1,946 points. This is the second year in a row Chambers was selected to the Daktronics first-team.

Mullings transferred from South Mountain Community College to help lead the Seawolves to the GNAC regular-season and tournament titles along with the No. 1 ranking in the nation. Mullings led the Seawolves with 13.7 points per game while also leading the conference in shooting percentage at 60.5 percent.

Ohlsen was named first team all-GNAC after scoring a career-high 18 points per game this season. Ohlsen ranked in the top 10 in the conference in eight different categories including field goal percentage, assists and steals.

Mullings and Ohlsen will continue their seasons Friday in Anchorage. Mullings and Alaska Anchorage will host the NCAA West Regionals and play eight-seed Point Loma Nazarene at 7:30 Alaskan. Ohlsen and Seattle Pacific, earning a six-seed, play the regions third-ranked team in Humboldt State at 12 p.m.

Hawaii Pacific’s Morganne Comstock was named the Daktronics West Region’s Player of the Year after averaging a double-double (19.7 points and 11.0 rebounds per game) and helping the sharks win the PacWest regular-season and tournament titles.
