PORTLAND, Ore. – Montana State University Billings senior guard Bobbi Knudsen has been selected to the Capital One CoSIDA All-Academic District 8 team, becoming the first GNAC three-time recipient of the academic honor.

Joining Knudsen from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference were senior Katie Benson and junior Suzanna Ohlsen of the Seattle Pacific women’s basketball team.

Of the five players selected to the District 8 team, Ohlsen posted the highest grade point average with a perfect 4.00. Benson earned the honor for the second time in her career (2012) with a 3.72 GPA, while Knudsen landed on the list for the third straight year with a GPA of 3.49.

All three are among GNAC women’s basketball offensive leaders, with Benson ranking second in the conference with an average of 20.8 points per contest. Knudsen ranks fourth in scoring with 17.2 points per game, and is fifth in the NCAA with 5.9 assists per game. Ohlsen averages 13.2 points per game and ranks fifth in the GNAC in assists with 4.1 per contest.

All three players are now in consideration for Academic All-American honors, to be announced Feb. 19.
