McGladrey edged SPU's Katie Benson by one point in the balloting by the GNAC’s athletic directors. Four athletes including McGladrey, Benson, WWU's Kristin Maris and UAF's Keri Knight received at least two first-place votes.

Alaska Anchorage finished 16th with 505 ½ points and Western Washington placed 20th with 489 points. Grand Valley State won the Cup for the ninth time in the last 11 years with 1,030 points.

Construction of a multipurpose field on the south side of Western Washington University's campus is in full swing, with workers doing major ground-clearing of the area. Construction will be completed in spring, 2014.
