PORTLAND, Ore. - Teancum Stafford of Alaska Anchorage and two Seattle Pacific players - David Downs and Riley Stockton - have been selected to the CoSIDA District 8 Capital One men's basketball all-academic team.

The three are among five players from the West Region selected to the team and are now finalists for the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-American team which will be announced Feb. 19.

Stafford (Jr., Auburn, WA), who averages 13.6 points per game and ranks fourth in the GNAC in rebounding averaging 8.3, has a perfect 4.00 grade point average.  He is a psychology major.

Downs (Sr., Kirkland, WA) was selected to the district team for the third year in a row, becoming the first men's basketball player in GNAC history to accomplish that feat.  An accounting major, he has a 3.80 GPA.  On the court, he ranks third in the GNAC in scoring (20.0) and fourth in assists (4.8).

Stockton (Jr., Spokane, WA) averages 7.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists for the Falcons.  Last year he led the conference in rebounding.  A business administration major, he has a 3.87 GPA in his three years at SPU.
