PORTLAND, Ore. - Western Washington drew the No. 5 seed and will take on fourth-seed Sonoma State in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Volleyball West Regional tournament.
The regional will be held Dec. 5-7. Top-seed Cal State San Bernardino will be the host.
The Vikings will be joined in the regional by two other GNAC teams - Alaska Anchorage and Central Washington.
The Seawolves are the No. 7 seed and will play second-seed and defending champion BYU-Hawaii in the quarterfinals. Central Washington drew the No. 8 seed and will take on the host Coyotes in the quarterfinals.
NCAA Division II West Regional (Dec. 5-7 at San Bernardino): Thursday - #3 UC San Diego (25-5) vs. #6 Dixie State (17-9), noon; #2 BYU-Hawaii (24-1) vs. #7 Alaska Anchorage (21-9), 2:30 p.m.; #4 Sonoma State (25-5) vs. #5 Western Washington (23-3), 5 p.m.; #1 CSU San Bernardino (25-5) vs. #8 Central Washington (15-11), 7:30 p.m. Friday - Semifinals st 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.. Saturday - Championship at 7 p.m.
