Alaska Anchorage's Coleman Nash has been named the Men's 2022-23 D2CCA West Region Scholar-Athlete of the Year after winning three GNAC championships and strong performances on the regional and national stages.
All nine of the conference's track and field programs and a total of 38 student-athletes earned academic awards from the USTFCCCA for the 2022-23 season.
Current GNAC men's 400-meter hurdle champion Maurice Woodring competes in the USATF U20 Outdoor Championships while Derek Holdsworth makes the finals in the 800 meters at the USATF Outdoor Championships.
The GNAC Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Coleman Nash becomes the first Alaska Anchorage male athlete named to the College Sports Communicators Cross Country/Track & Field Academic All-America First Team.
