Ila Davis – Western Washington

Davis narrowly missed out on All-American honors during the 2023 cross country season, finishing 53rd at the NCAA Championships with a PR 6k time of 20:56.4 last November. Her leadership was a big part of the Vikings’ historic season, as they claimed their first NCAA Division II west region title after wrapping up the GNAC team crown as well. Davis’s success carried over into her first meet of the indoor season, as she opened up with a PR 3,000 meters time of 9:45.70 at the UW Indoor Preview on Jan. 13. Look for the reigning GNAC indoor champion in the 3,000 meters to threaten for a second straight title at next month’s GNAC Indoor Championships.

Colton Plummer – Simon Fraser

The SFU freshman got his collegiate career off to a good start two weeks ago at the UW Indoor Preview, clocking in with a time of 1:54.52 in the 800 meters. Plummer also ran a leg of the Red Leafs’ 4x400 meter relay team, which opened its season with a time of 3:24.53 at the event. Plummer figures to be a key, young competitor for SFU in the long sprints and middle distance races as the season progresses.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association releases national and regional rankings throughout the 2024 indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

With only a handful of meets in the books in the young indoor season, Central Washington’s women were the first GNAC team to be featured in the USTFCCCA national rankings checking in at No. 15. The regional polls featured seven GNAC teams in the top-10 on the men’s side, including Western Washington checking in at No. 1. On the women’s side, four GNAC teams were featured in the top-10 led by No. 3 Central Washington.
