SEATTLE, Wash. – Alex Donigian of Western Washington won the 60 meters Saturday in a provisional national qualifying time of 6.89 in the University of Washington Indoor Track and Field meet at the Dempsey Indoor.

Donigian’s time, which was a school record, matched the second fastest 60 in GNAC history and was one of 11 provisional national qualifying marks established by GNAC athletes in the meet.

Michael Davis of Saint Martin’s also earned a win claiming the men’s triple jump with a leap of 45-5 ¼.

Donigian was the lone GNAC male to earn a PNQ.

GNAC women to earn qualifying marks included Kishia Mitchell of Seattle Pacific in the 60 meters (7.73), Helen Crofts (2:10.71), Michaela Kane (2:13.64) and Sarah Sawatzky (2;15.15), all of Simon Fraser, and SPU’s McKayla Fricker (2:14.84) in the 800; Tanya Bjornsson of Western Washington in the  60 hurdles (8.94), Saint Martin’s Laura Tesch in the high jump (5-5 ¾),  WWU’s Emily Warman in the long jump (18-1 ¾) and Alexis Anderson of Western Oregon in the triple jump (38-3 ¼).

Simon Fraser’s women also earned a PNQ in the 4x400 relay. Chantel  Desch, Sawatzky, Kane and Crofts finished second in the event in a time of 3:54.41 moving into fifth place on the GNAC all-time list.

In all GNAC athletes established 11 all-time Top 10 performances at UW.

Mitchell’s 60 time ranks third.  SPU’s Katie Thrall was clocked in a time of 10:07.98 in the 3,000, moving into fourth place on the Top 10 chart.  Bjornsson’s time in the 60 hurdles also ranks fourth.  Anderson’s triple jump mark ranks sixth, while Tesch’s high jump ranks ninth.

Becki Duhammel of Central Washington finished fifth in the women’s weight throw with the seventh best mark in GNAC history (52-4 ¾). Seattle Pacific finished fifth in the 4x400 relay, posting the ninth best time (3:56.39).

In addition to winning the triple jump, Davis also finished fifth in the 60 in the ninth fastest time in GNAC history (6.97). Western Washington’s men finished second in the 4x400 relay  in a school-record time of 3:20.26 moving into eighth place on the all-time chart.

Two other Top 10 marks were established by Northwest Nazarene athletes at Boise State’s Blue & Orange Opener in Nampa Saturday.

Christabel Leonce ran  the eighth fastest 60 meter time (7.90) placing eighth overall.  Marie Smith finished  fourth in the 60 hurdles with the sixth best time (9.04) in GNAC history.

NNU had three second-place finishers in the meet including Stephen Larlee in the men’s triple jump (44-4) and Natalie Evans in the women’s 600 (1:37.98).  Its men’s 4x400 relay team also finished second in a time of 3:29.34.

At Spearfish, S.D., five Montana State Billings athletes won events.  Lewis Polkow won the men’s 400 in a time of 53.78.  Drew Galahan won the 800 in 1:59.65.  Robert Peterson finished first in the 3,000 meters (8:53.28).

Also winning events were Tanner Rottrup in the shot put (50-6 ¼) and Blair Street in the women’s 60 (8.26).
