Twelve Great Northwest Athletic Conference track and field and cross country athletes have been selected to the Capital One CoSIDA All-District VIII Academic team.

The 12 are now eligible for the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-American team which will be selected later this month.

Among the 12 are four from Seattle Pacific, three from Alaska Anchorage, two each from Alaska Fairbanks and Western Washington and one from MSU Billings.

Eric Brill of Western Washington and Lewis Polkow of Montana State Billings each qualified for the men's team with 3.89 GPAs.

On the women's squad - three of the all-stars have GPAs of 3.90 or better - Natty Plunkett of Seattle Pacific (3.96), Theresia Schnurr of Alaska Fairbanks (3.93) and Katy Gross of Seattle Pacific (3.92).

The 12 join three other GNAC athletes from other spring sports who earned CoSIDA academic honors earlier this spring including MSUB baseball player Blake Loran, WWU softball player Rachelle Berry and WWU golfer Alex Taylor.

Women's Track and Field - Natty Plunkett, SPU (Psychology, 3.96, Gr., Bellevue, WA); Theresia Schnurr, UAF (Chemistry, 3.93, Sr., Voehrenbach, Germany); Katy Gross, SPU (General Engineering, 3.92, Jr., Everett, WA); Heather Edic, UAF (Civil Engineering, 3.83, Jr., Fairbanks, AK); Haleigh Lloyd, UAA (Nursing, 3.67, So., Ladysmith, BC); Ali Worthen, SPU (Exercise Science, 3.43, Jr., Coos Bay, WA).
