NEW ORLEANS – Montana State Billings and Northwest Nazarene student-athletes are being honored for their efforts in the abbreviated indoor track and field season with selections as All-West Region performers by the U.S. Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Montana State Billings landed 15 All-West Region selections while Northwest Nazarene landed 27 selections. To earn all-region honors, a student-athlete must be one of the top-five individuals in their events in their respective events or members of the top-three ranked relay teams.

Yellowjackets’ sophomore Kailee Stoppel was recognized as all-region in three events, earning individual honors in the women’s mile (5:33.15) and 3,000 meters (11:33.06) and as part of the MSUB distance medley relay.

Four Northwest Nazarene student-athletes earned all-region honors with the top marks in their respective events in the West Region. Freshman Kinsey Langin led the way with the top mark in the women’s pole vault (12 feet, 0.5 inches). She was the only GNAC athlete in 2020-21 to earn a provisional qualifying mark for the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Also among the top marks in the region were freshman Julia LaMar in the women’s 800 meters (2:22.32), junior Colton Burr in the men’s weight throw (54 feet, 1.75 inches) and freshman Magnus Hemingway in the men’s 60 meters (7.10 seconds).

A total of 1,311 student-athletes from 99 different institutions received all-region honors by the USTFCCCA. The list includes 661 athletes from women’s teams and 650 from men’s teams.
