GNAC Announces Nullification Penalty For Alaska Anchorage

PORTLAND, Ore. – Due to the participation of an ineligible student-athlete in three conference games, the University of Alaska Anchorage men’s basketball team will be assessed a deduction of .126 percentage points from its conference win-loss percentage, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference announced today.

The deduction for each occurrence is .042 percentage points and is based on the NCAA Division II principles of nullification.  The GNAC’s bylaw on nullification has been in place since 2013. The penalty will be applied at the conclusion of the regular season.

The top six teams based on conference winning percentage qualify for the 2023 GNAC Men’s Basketball Championships.
