Outdoor Track Season In Full Swing This Week

PORTLAND, Ore. – A full schedule featuring six different meets lies ahead for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference track and field programs, which are set to enter the second full week of the 2024 outdoor season beginning on Thursday.

Alaska Anchorage and Seattle Pacific are headed to Southern California, and will send athletes to the San Diego State Aztec Invitational and Point Loma Invitational in San Diego, as well as the Mangrum Invitational in San Marcos. Western Washington and Simon Fraser will stay close to home at the UBC Open beginning Saturday in Vancouver, B.C., and the Vikings also have a group of athletes slated to compete in the Oregon Preview starting Friday. Joining WWU at the first meet of the season at Hayward Field in Eugene will be Central Washington, Northwest Nazarene, Saint Martin’s and Western Oregon. The Saints are also scheduled to compete in the Peyton Shotwell Invitational on Saturday in Tacoma, Wash.

2024 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships
 

The 2024 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held May 10-11 at the Recreation Sports Complex on the campus of Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Wash. The event will be preceded by the GNAC Combined Event Championships, which will take place April 29-30 at Civic Stadium in Bellingham, Wash. All nine GNAC track and field programs are eligible to compete in both the combined event championship and the outdoor championship.
