SEASIDE, Calif. - Eighth-seed Montana State Billings rallied from a 6-0 deficit scoring three runs in the sixth and four in the seventh to defeat top-seed Cal State Monterey Bay in the opening round of the NCAA West Sub-Regional Friday at the Otter Sports Complex.

The Yellowjackets got an RBI single from Kelsey Devlin and a two-run single from Bella Rovens to pull within 6-3 in the sixth inning, then struck for four runs in the seventh,

Aubrey Conceicao got the inning started with a solo home run.  After a walk and a single by pinch-hitter Jordyn Roark, Devlin gave MSUB the lead with a three-run blast to center field.

MSUB's Jessyka MacDonald then retired the Otters in order in the bottom of the inning to earn her 20th win against six losses.  She earned the win despite walking seven batters.  

Rovens finished the game with three hits.  Devlin, Heather Tracy and Emily Osborn had two hits each.

The Yellowjackets now advance to a winner's bracket game Saturday against fifth-seed Sonoma State which defeated No. 4 seed Humboldt State 5-4 Friday. That game will begin at 11 a.m. Pacific time.

In the St. George Sub-Regional, Chico State eliminated Saint Martin's 6-4 as Brynn Lesovsky's two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning snapped a 4-4 tie.

The Saints had tied the game in the top of the seventh putting together four hits.   First baseman Kim Nelson drove in the run.  SMU, which finished its season with a 41-20 record, outhit the Wildcats 11-8.  Nelson had three hits, while pitcher Sam Munger and second baseman Alyssa Slate had two each.

Munger took the loss to finish the season with a 23-7 record.
