SEASIDE, Calif. - Montana State Billings' brilliant postseason run came to a close Sunday with an 11-3, five-inning loss to Sonoma State.

The Seawolves scored in all four of their at bats, including five in the fourth, to take an eight-run lead.  Three MSUB outs later the game ended on the eight-run rule.

Shortstop Ancia Purdy and right fielder Mayleen Mazon had home runs to account for four of Sonoma's runs.  Purdy's was an inside-the-park, three-run four bagger in the second inning, staking the CCAA team to an early 5-0 lead.

The Yellowjackets responded with three runs in the top of the third to pull within 5-3, but that was all of MSUB's offense off of winning pitcher Amanda Llerena, who improved to 26-12.

MSUB's runs came on doubles by Cori Gammon and Taylor Hoke, and on an error.  Leadoff hitter Bella Rovens and Gammon each had two hits for the Yellowjackets.  Jessyka MacDonald allowed nine hits in taking the loss and completing her season with an outstanding 21-8 record.

Rovens finished the regional with nine hits in 17 at bats.  Gammon went six for 10, including three doubles.  Kelsey Devlin, Emily Osborn and Aubrey Conceicao each had five hits -- and each had two home runs.  Osborn finished her season leading the GNAC with 14 home runs.

Devlin had a team-best five RBI as MSUB split its four regional games and finished its postseason with a 5-2 record, ending the season with a 31-23 record.
