PORTLAND, Ore. – Four-time honorees Ryan Stolys and Jordan Bean of Simon Fraser lead 15 selections to the 2022-23 GNAC Men’s Golf All-Academic Team, presented by Barnes & Noble College.

Stolys leads all selections to the All-Academic team with a 3.73 grade-point average while majoring in engineering science. The senior from Richmond Hill, Ontario owns an 83.0 stroke average through three rounds this season. His lone appearance on the course ahead of the GNAC Championships came at the NCAA West Regional Spring Preview, where he carded a three-round score of 249.

Bean holds a 3.25 GPA as a senior criminology major. He ranks third for the Red Leafs and fourth in the GNAC with a 73.2 stroke average through 19 rounds in seven tournaments. Bean has recorded three top-20 finishes this season, highlighted by a tie for ninth at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout where he carded a two-round score of 3-under par 141 to help Simon Fraser to a second-place team finish.

Stolys and Bean are two of eight repeat golfers on the All-Academic team. They become just the third and fourth men’s golfers in GNAC history to receive All-Academic recognition four times alongside Montana State Billings’ Riley Kaercher and Northwest Nazarene’s Tyler Joplin in 2022.

Northwest Nazarene junior Grayson Giboney leads five three-time honorees with a 3.56 GPA as a management major. Giboney ranks third for the Nighthawks with a 76.0 stroke average and has notched three top-20 finishes this season. His top result of the season came at the College of Idaho Invitational in September where Giboney won top individual honors with a three-round score of 4-under-par 212.

Montana State Billings, Northwest Nazarene and Western Washington all earned four All-Academic Team selections followed by Simon Fraser with three.

To qualify for the GNAC All-Academic Teams, nominees must be of sophomore eligibility or greater, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 or greater on a 4.00 scale, be on the team roster for the full season and must be in their second year at the nominating institution.
