SPU’s Anderson Garners All-America Honors

PORTLAND, Ore. – Wrapping up the 2023-24 season with D2CCA All-America honorable mention, Seattle Pacific men’s basketball senior Shaw Anderson represented the Great Northwest Athletic Conference on the list which was announced on Tuesday.

A first-team all-region and first-team all-conference selection, Anderson ranked second in the GNAC with 21.3 points per game throughout the 2023-24 season. The senior finished his career as the Falcons’ all-time leading scorer with 1,987 points, a figure that ranked him fifth all-time in the GNAC.

Anderson shot 50.3 percent from the field and ranked second in the conference with a free-throw percentage of 89.9. He chipped in 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, and had five 30-point games including a season-high 33 on Feb. 1 against Central Washington.

Anderson piloted the Falcons (17-15, 10-8 GNAC) into the 2024 GNAC Championships, where he scored 28 points and had nine rebounds in the team’s 90-76 loss to Central Washington. In the final game of his collegiate career, Anderson played all 40 minutes.

Anderson is the first Falcon to claim All-America since David Downs (second team) and Patrick Simon (honorable mention) earned the honor during the 2013-14 campaign. Overall he is the seventh SPU player to garner All-America recognition since the school joined the conference as a founding member in 2001-02.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association is voted on by members of the media representing Division II schools.
