Central Washington Opens Season With Regional TV Game

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Not only will Central Washington play the defending national champions to open the 2015 season, they will do so in front of a regional television audience.

The Wildcats’ game against Colorado St.-Pueblo will be the first American Sports Network Division II Football Showcase game of the season. It is the first of 10 games that will be broadcast on regional cable outlets (dependent on the teams involved) and streamed live on NCAA.com. The series is produced by ASN in association with the NCAA.

This Saturday’s broadcast will give Central Washington and GNAC football exposure in 11 states covering all parts of GNAC Country in the continental United States. The game will air on Altitude in Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming, and will air on Comcast SportsNet Northwest in Oregon and Washington. The game will also air on KFFV in the Seattle/Tacoma area.

"As a team we are excited to get out there and play.  Our athletes have worked extremely hard during the offseason and during camp in preparation for this season," Central Washington Head Coach Ian Shoemaker said.  "The guys are fired up to start the season and playing on National television is only going to add to the excitement."

The game will be streamed live on NCAA.com and will air live on the following channels:

Idaho: Altitude – Boise, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls.
Kansas: Altitude – Wichita.
Montana: Altitude – Billings, Butte/Bozeman, Glendive, Great Falls, Helena, Missoula.
Nebraska: Altitude – North Platte, Lincoln, Omaha.
New Mexico: Altitude – Albuquerque.
Oregon: Comcast SportsNet NW – Bend, Eugene, Medford, Portland.
South Dakota: Altitude – Rapid City.
Utah: Altitude – Salt Lake City.
Washington: KFFV (5, Comcast 352), Seattle/Tacoma. Comcast SportsNet NW – Seattle/Tacoma, Spokane.
Wyoming: Altitude – Casper, Cheyenne.
