PORTLAND, Ore. –  After leading their respective teams to the GNAC Championships for a 10th straight season, Seattle Pacific senior forward Sophie Beadle and Western Washington sophomore forward Morgan Manalili both earned 2023 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II All-American honors.

Beadle, the reigning GNAC Player of the Year, earned second team selection after battling through a midseason injury to lead the Falcons to a conference-record 10th women’s soccer regular season championship with an undefeated GNAC record of 9-0-5 (13-4-5 overall). With Beadle’s leadership, SPU advanced all the way to the NCAA Division II West Regional Final, she earned United Soccer Coaches and D2CCA first team all-west region honors in the process.

Despite limited playing time in the latter half of the season, Beadle finished the 2023 campaign with seven assists, the most of any GNAC player. She also added one goal of her own, bringing her points total to nine. The All-American honor marks the first of Beadle’s illustrious career at Seattle Pacific as the Rainier, Wash., native finishes her stint with the Falcons with 58 points on 16 goals and 26 assists.

Beadle is the 20th Seattle Pacific player to earn United Soccer Coaches All-American honors and is the first Falcon to be named to the team since 2021 when Sophia Chilczuk (2017-21) and Makena Rietz (2018-21) earned the honor after leading SPU to the NCAA Quarterfinals.

Manalili earned third-team honors after another standout year for the Vikings. The Shoreline, Wash., native was one of the top offensive players in the conference this season, ranking second in the league with 15 points courtesy of six goals and three assists. Manalili did most of her damage later in the season, coming through with three consecutive game-winning goals from Oct. 21-28 to help cement the Vikings’ place in the GNAC Championships.

Manalili’s offensive prowess also earned her first team all-GNAC honors along with first team D2CAA all-west region recognition and selection to the United Soccer Coaches all-region team earlier this week. The United Soccer Coaches All-American honor is the first of Manalili’s career after earning D2CCA All-American honors last year during the Vikings’ NCAA Championship-winning season.

Manalili is the 16th player from Western Washington to earn United Soccer Coaches All-American honors, continuing a legacy of success that has seen at least one Viking earn the honor in each of the last 11 seasons.
