PORTLAND, Ore. - A three-year starter for Alaska while maintaining a near-perfect GPA in the classroom, Alaska senior guard Kylie Wallace is among the leaders on the 2019-20 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team.

Wallace, a social work major, has maintained a 3.96 cumulative GPA and is among 12 three-time selections to the team. A starter in all 21 of the Nanooks’ games this season, Wallace is averaging 9.1 points per game and ranks sixth in the conference with a .528 field goal percentage.

A total of 49 student-athletes were named to the team, which honors excellence in the classroom while committing to the rigor of being part of a collegiate athletic program. Nominees must be of sophomore eligibility or greater, have a minimum cumulative GPA or 3.20 or greater, be a letterwinner on their team and must be in their second season at the nominating institution.

Wallace is one of 15 selections that carries a 3.80 GPA or greater. Montana State Billings sophomore forward Shannon Reny, a health and human performance major, is the only member of the team with a 4.00 GPA.

Joining Wallace as three-time All-Academic Team selections is Alaska Anchorage senior guard Yazmeen Goo, Central Washington senior forwards Kaelie Flores and Taylor Shaw and senior guard Alexis Pana; Montana State Billings senior forwards Taylor Cunningham and Janessa Williams and senior guard Jeanann Lemelin; Northwest Nazarene senior guard Avery Albrecht, Saint Martin’s senior guard Makenna Schultz, Simon Fraser senior guard Tayler Drynan and Western Washington senior guard Lexie Bland.

Saint Martin’s leads conference teams with seven All-Academic selections. Concordia and Simon Fraser follow with six selections.
