PORTLAND, Ore. – A total of 24 Great Northwest Athletic Conference men’s basketball student-athletes earned the distinction of academic all-conference, presented by Barnes & Noble College, for the 2023-24 season.
Among the selections announced on Wednesday, Alaska Anchorage senior Caleb Larsen and Saint Martin’s senior Marcus Lenker earned the rare designation of a four-time academic all-conference selection. Colby Gennett of Central Washington, Gabriel Murphy of Northwest Nazarene and Tyke Thompson of Saint Martin’s each earned the academic honor for the third time in their careers. The list also featured five repeat selections, and 14 first-time academic all-conference honorees.
Saint Martin’s sophomore Cory Schramm had the top grade point average in the conference, holding a perfect 4.00 mark while studying mechanical engineering. Alaska Anchorage, Central Washington and Saint Martin’s each had five academic all-conference selections to lead the conference.
To qualify for the GNAC All-Academic Teams, nominees must be of sophomore eligibility or greater, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 or greater on a 4.00 scale, be on the team roster for the full season and must be in their second year at the nominating institution.
