COMMERCE, Texas – Three GNAC players, including both conference Offensive Linemen of the Year, have been named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CAA) All-Super Region 4 Football Team.

Central Washington senior offensive lineman Nicholas Streubel was voted by the region’s sports information directors to the first team. Wildcats senior cornerback Tyren Sams and Western Oregon senior offensive lineman Joseph Gonzales were second-team selections. All three players were named as First Team All-GNAC performers in November.

Streubel, the co-Offensive Lineman of the Year, helped provide great coverage to a Central Washington offense that ranked ninth in Division II at the end of the regular season with 504.7 total offense yards per game and 12th in scoring offense at 41.5 points per game. As a unit, the Wildcats ranked 13th in Division II with one sack allowed per game.

Gonzales, who shared the Offensive Lineman of the Year award, was an anchor in a Western Oregon offensive line that played a big role in the Wolves finishing the regular season ranked 18th in Division II in total offense with 465.8 yards per game while leading the conference in rushing offense. The line allowed 1.82 sacks per game and was 37th in Division II with 5.18 tackles for loss allowed per game. Earlier this month, Gonzales was named a Second Team AFCA Division II All-American.

Sams was one of the Wildcats’ defensive leaders with 34 tackles, including 23 solo tackles, and finished tied for first in the GNAC and 19th in Division II with five interceptions. He also finished second in the conference 53 interception return yards to go along with one tackle for loss, one sack and five pass break-ups.

With his first-team selection, Streubel is now eligible for selection to the D2CCA Football All-America Team, which will be announced on December 19.
