OFFENSIVE
Jacqueline Blakeley, Seattle Pacific

Blakeley put together a stellar week for the Falcons, scoring in both of this week’s matches. On Thursday against Western Oregon, she recorded an assist on the first goal of the game before netting the game-winner under 10 minutes later in the 2-1 victory. She followed up that performance with the final goal in a 3-1 win at Saint Martin’s on Saturday.

DEFENSIVE
Makayla Roggow, Northwest Nazarene
D • 5-8 • Junior • Kelso, Wash.
Roggow was a key part of the NNU defense that didn’t allow a single goal through two matches last week. She played all 180 minutes of the Nighthawks' 3-0 win over Simon Fraser on Thursday and Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Western Washington. In the second half against the Red Leafs, Roggow and the NNU defense held SFU to just one shot.

AROUND THE GNAC
CENTRAL WASHINGTON
• Central Washington played a pair of matches in Ellensburg last week. The Wildcats dropped their first match to Western Washington 3-0 on Thursday before earning a 3-3 draw with Simon Fraser on Saturday.
• The Wildcats earned their first point of the conference season in the 3-3 draw with Simon Fraser. It was a back-and-forth match between the Red Leafs and the Wildcats. Simon Fraser jumped ahead early and CWU took the lead by the half. Two Red Leafs’ goals in the second half forced the draw.
• Saturday’s match was the highest scoring game for Central Washington this season with Jordan Bartlow, Cassidie Andrews and Kayla Gout all scoring.
• Central Washington will look to continue picking up points as it hits the road to face Western Oregon on Thursday and Saint Martin’s on Saturday.
MONTANA STATE BILLINGS
• Montana State Billings earned one point in its brief homestand, dropping Thursday’s match 4-1 against Saint Martin’s before drawing 1-1 with Western Oregon on Saturday.
• The Yellowjackets scored the first goal of the match on Thursday when Sydney Torres found the back of the net in the 20th minute. Montana State Billings outshot the Saints 13-8 but saw its lead disappear due to a costly own goal and SMU scored just before the half in the 45th minute to take the lead.
• On Saturday, the Yellowjackets struck first again when Kiley Sandow netted her first goal of the season. Clare Keenan made six saves against 17 shots but the Wolves scored in the 67th minute to force the draw.
• Montana State Billings will face Western Washington in Belllingham on Thursday and cross the border to take on Simon Fraser in Burnaby on Saturday.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE
• Northwest Nazarene remained undefeated in GNAC play and tied atop the standings with a 3-0 win over Simon Fraser at home on Thursday and a 0-0 draw with Western Washington on Saturday in Nampa.
• The Nighthawks scored early and often against the Red Leafs on Thursday with Alejandra Jaramillo netting the game-winner just 16 seconds into the match. Madison Grande added an insurance goal in the 23rd minute, bringing her season total to a conference-leading six and Sierra Sanchez scored the final goal in the second half.
• Northwest Nazarene once again proved to be perfectly matched with Western Washington in conference play, with the two teams battling to a 0-0 draw. Alexis Montoya made three saves in net for the Nighthawks.
• Junior defender Makayla Roggow earned GNAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for her role in anchoring the NNU defense in a week where it didn’t allow any goals.
• Northwest Nazarene will be on the road this week as they take on Saint Martin’s on Thursday and face Western Oregon on Saturday.
SAINT MARTIN’S
• Saint Martin’s split its week with a 4-1 win over Montana State Billings on Thursday before dropping its match against Seattle Pacific 3-1 on Saturday.
• The Saints got a lucky break on Thursday after surrendering the first goal and trailing the Yellowjackets until an own goal leveled the score. Mia Fleming tallied the second goal of the match for SMU in the 45th minute to take the lead. Ravyn Mummey and Taylor Goodpaster tacked on insurance goals in the second half.
• Mummey netted her second goal of the season on Saturday against Seattle Pacific.
• Saint Martin’s will begin a four-match homestand this week as Northwest Nazarene travels to Lacey on Thursday and Central Washington makes the trip on Saturday.
SEATTLE PACIFIC
• Seattle Pacific moved up to third place in the standings after picking up two wins at home last week. The Falcons took a 2-1 victory over Western Oregon on Thursday and a 3-1 decision against Saint Martin’s on Saturday.
• The Falcons were dominant on Thursday, outshooting the Wolves 22-8 with all the damage to the scoresheet coming in the first 15 minutes. Lauren Forster scored the opening goal of the match off of assists from Chloe Gellhaus and Jacqueline Blakeley in the sixth minute and the game-winner came just nine minutes later when Blakeley tallied her first goal of the season.
• On Saturday, Seattle Pacific got on the board early with Marissa Bankey converting on an penalty kick and Toni Miranda made it a 2-0 lead for the Falcons when she scored in the 35th minute. Blakeley netted her second goal of the week in the 60th minute.
• Blakeley was named the GNAC Offensive Player of the week after her five-point week.
• Seattle Pacific will travel north of the border on Thursday to take on Simon Fraser in Burnaby before continuing its road trip with a match against Western Washington on Saturday.
SIMON FRASER
• Simon Fraser wrapped up a seven-match stretch on the road last week with a 3-1 loss at Northwest Nazarene on Thursday before picking up a 3-3 draw with Central Washington on Saturday in Ellensburg.
• On Thursday, the Red Leafs and Nighthawks both fired 11 shots but SFU couldn’t find the back of the net.
• On Saturday, Simon Fraser outshot Central Washington 23-12 with 13 shots on goal and jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute courtesy of a Giuliana Zaurrini goal. After coming into the second half down by a goal, the Red Leafs outscored the Wildcats 2-1 in the second frame to earn the draw.
• Simon Fraser will play its home opener on Thursday when Seattle Pacific makes the trip north and Montana State Billings comes to town on Saturday.
WESTERN OREGON
• Western Oregon picked up one point on its road trip last week after dropping its match on Thursday 2-1 to Seattle Pacific and drawing 1-1 with Montana State Billings on Saturday.
• On Thursday, the Wolves scored in the 20th minute when Savannah Taylor netted her second goal of the season but the tally only cut the Falcons' lead in half after SPU scored two goals in the first 15 minutes. Olivia Holdenried made seven saves in net for WOU. She leads the conference with 35 saves.
• On Saturday, Western Oregon outshout the Yellowjackets 17-9 but couldn’t find the back of the net until the second half when Chloe Smith scored the equalizer off an Alyssa Talkington assist.
• Western Oregon will return home this week to face Central Washington on Thursday and Northwest Nazarene on Saturday.
WESTERN WASHINGTON
• Western Washington remains in a deadlock at the top of the standings after taking a 3-0 win at Central Washington on Thursday and drawing 0-0 at Northwest Nazarene on Saturday.
• The Vikings ran rampant on Thursday, outshooting the Wildcats 21-4 while goalkeeper Claire Henninger played 71 minutes and made two saves. Ellie Busk scored the game-winner for WWU with Morgan Manalili and Tera Ziemer adding on insurance markers in the second half.
• On Saturday, the Vikings outshot the Nighthawks 11-4 but neither side could find the back of the net. Henninger made another two saves in net and recorded her second shutout of the season, tying her for third in the conference.
• The Vikings lead the conference with a .750 goals against average.
• Western Washington will return to Bellingham this week for matches against Montana State Billings on Thursday and Seattle Pacific on Saturday.
