CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – For the second year in a row, Simon Fraser junior Estee Leung has been recognized as an All-American Scholar by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

The annual program recognized 1,401 women’s golfers from every level of collegiate women’s golf. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or greater and nominated by a WGCA member coach. Leung was the only GNAC golfer to be honored.

With eight rounds played this season, Leung ranked eighth in the GNAC with a 78.4 stroke average. She earned First Team All-GNAC honors, one of five Simon Fraser golfers named to the first team, and had the top GPA on the GNAC Women’s Golf All-Academic Team with a 3.97 GPA as a biomedical physiology major.

Leung finished in the top-10 in two of the four tournaments she played in. Her best finish of the season was third place at the season-opening True North Classic in September.
