CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A pair of banner seasons on the links is being rewarded with two historic award selections as Simon Fraser senior Emily Leung and Concordia senior Cammie Decker have been named 2019-20 Division II All-Americans by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

Leung was one of 13 players named to the first team. She is the first women’s golfer in GNAC history to be named a First Team All-American. Decker was named to the second team, which is also a conference first.

The two are just the third and fourth players in conference history to be named All-Americans, joining honorable mention selections for Sophie Elstrott of Western Washington in 2011 and Simon Fraser’s Jaya Rampuri in 2019.

Leung and Decker tied for first in the GNAC’s shortened season with a 73.9 stroke average. Leung accomplished the total in 12 rounds after redshirting during the 2018-19 season. The 2017 GNAC Player of the Year and a three-time First Team All-GNAC selection, Leung was named a WGCA All-West Region selection on Monday.

Leung posted a top-10 finish in five of the Clan’s six tournaments. She finished the fall season with a win at October’s Division II West Region Preview in Carlsbad, California, carding a two-round score of 2-under-par 142. The tournament included a season-low round of 3-under-par 69, tying for the second-lowest individual round in conference history.

Leung earned runner-up honors at September’s Dixie State Fall Invitational with another 2-under-par 142 and tied for fourth in two other tournaments, September’s True North Classic and February’s Battle at Hilton Head Island.

Decker won or shared GNAC Player of the Year honors in 2018 and 2019 and is also a three-time First Team All-GNAC selection. She carded her 73.9 stroke average over 13 rounds also matched Leung with five top-10 finishes in six events. Decker closed the fall with two victories, winning the Concordia Invitational on October 8 and the tying to win the Dennis Rose Invitational on October 30.

At the Dennis Rose, Decker shot a second-round score of 4-under-par 68, setting the GNAC record for lowest-round.

Decker opened the year with runner-up honors at September’s True North Classic and tied for fifth in the Cavaliers’ final event of the season, the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout on March 3.
