PORTLAND, Ore. – Western Washington has accounted for three of the four GNAC Women’s Golf Player of the Week awards this season. This week, it was sophomore Sarah Shea.

Shea earned the honor after leading all GNAC golfers at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on April 2-3 in Goodyear, Arizona, with a two-round score of 4-over-par 148 to tie for 14th place. Junior Kolby Heggenes tied for 26th place to help Shea lead the Vikings to a tie for eighth place with Colorado Mesa at 612.

Montana State Billings is competing at the Leslie Spalding Cup against crosstown rival Rocky Mountain this weekend in Billings. The Yellowjackets will close their regular season at the Hardrocker Spring Classic on April 12-13 in Rapid City, South Dakota.

The Vikings will close their season by hosting the Western Washington Invitational on April 12-13 in Bellingham. Northwest Nazarene and Saint Martin’s will also compete at the tournament.

The GNAC Championships are set for April 19-20 at The Home Course in DuPont, Washington.

MONTANA STATE BILLINGS
• Montana State Billings placed 15th at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on Friday and Saturday with a two-round score of 632.

• Junior Tierney Messmer was the Yellowjackets’ top performer as she finished in an eight-way tie for 32nd place with a score of 10-over-par 154. Her tournament included a 4-over-par 76 in the opening round.

• Junior Avery Gill finished in a five-way tie for 54th place at 158 while junior Kinsey Irvin and senior Sydney Rochford finished in a five-way tie for 69th at 160.

• Montana State Billings will compete at its annual match play competition with Rocky Mountain, the Leslie Spalding Cup, this weekend in Billings. The Yellowjackets will close their regular season at the Hardrocker Spring Classic on April 12-13 in Rapid City, South Dakota, before gearing up for the GNAC Championships on April 19-20 at The Home Course in DuPont, Washington.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE
• Northwest Nazarene finished in 18th place at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on Friday and Saturday with a final score of 655 over two rounds.

• Senior Ragan McGilvery was the Nighthawks’ top performer, competing as an individual. McGilvery finished in an eight-way tie for 32nd place with a score of 10-over-par 154, which included a 4-over-par 76 in the second round.

• Senior Hannah Holloway finished in a five-way tie for 82nd place at 162.

• Northwest Nazarene will complete its regular season at the Western Washington Invitational on April 12-13 in Bellingham, Washington, before competing at the GNAC Championships on April 19-20 at The Home Course in DuPont, Washington.

SAINT MARTIN’S
• Saint Martin’s finished in 19th place at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic on Friday and Saturday with a final score of 658. The Saints placed 15th at the West Texas A&M Desert Invite on Monday and Tuesday with a score of 684.

• Sophomore Hoke Nagamine led the Saints at the Palm Valley Classic as she finished in a five-way tie for 69th place with a score of 160. Her best round was a 6-over-par 78 in the opening round.

• Sophomore Kathryn Crimp and junior Katherine Swor finished in a five-way tie for 59th place at 170 to lead the Saints at the West Texas A&M Desert Invite.

• Saint Martin’s will close its regular season at the Western Washington Invitational on April 12-13 in Bellingham, Washington. The Saints will compete at the GNAC Championships on April 19-20 at The Home Course in DuPont, Washington.

WESTERN WASHINGTON
• Western Washington led all GNAC teams at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic, tying for eighth place with Colorado Mesa with a two-round score of 612.

• Sophomore Sarah Shea was named the GNAC Women’s Golf Player of the Week after she was the top GNAC finisher at the Palm Valley Classic. Shea finished in a six-way tie for 14th place with a score of 4-over-par 148. Her tournament included an even-par 72 in the first round.

• Junior Kolby Heggenes finished in a three-way tie for 26th place at 8-over-par 152 while freshman Sophia Schmidt finished in an eight-way tie for 44th at 156.
