PORTLAND, Ore. – Excelling in the classroom all while balancing two collegiate sports, Saint Martin’s senior Hannah Reynolds leads this year’s selections to the 2017-18 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Golf All-Academic Team.

A graduate student in Saint Martin’s Master’s of Business Administration program, Reynolds tops the list of honorees with a 4.0 cumulative grade point average. Earning selection to the Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team earlier this year, Reynolds is second on the Saints with an 84.3 stroke average and was a top-10 finisher at the Saint Martin’s Invitational in October.

A total of 16 women were selected for the prestigious honor. To qualify for selection to the GNAC All-Academic Teams, a player must be of sophomore standing or better, have a 3.20 cumulative grade point or better and be in their second season of competition at the nominating school.

Three of the All-Academic Team selections are three-time honorees. Leading the field is Montana State Billings senior Bailee Dexter, who owns a 3.94 GPA in English. Saint Martin’s senior Lisa Zelasko maintains a 3.77 in business administration while Western Washington’s Jenn Paul has a 3.65 in accounting. Both Zelasko and Paul tied for 14th in the GNAC Championships after carding a 22-over par 164.

Joining Reynolds on the 3.80 GPA list is Concordia senior Madison Welch, Dexter, Simon Fraser’s Laura Jones and Paul. Eight of the players are repeat selections to the Women’s Golf All-Academic Team. Montana State Billings joins Saint Martin’s and Western Washington as the programs with two or more honorees.

Of the 16 All-Academic Team honorees, 12 participated in the GNAC Women’s Golf Championships. Concordia sophomore Cammie Decker, who owns a 3.58 in interdisciplinary studies, led the All-Academic performers at the tournament with a second-place finish at 8-over par 150.
