Central Washington

Pana led Central Washington with 40 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals at the Holiday Inn Cherry Creek Classic in Denver, Colorado. She shot 44.8 percent from the field and a perfect 8 of 8 from the free throw line. Pana recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a block in Friday’s 60-48 win over Colorado Christian. She then posted a game-high 28 points on 9 of 17 from the field, 4 of 9 from three-point range and 6 of 6 from the free throw line in Saturday’s 69-67 loss to host Metro State.

AROUND THE GNAC
ALASKA
• Alaska went 2-1 at its own Mt. McKinley State Bank North Star Invitational. The Nanooks scored an 87-73 win over Chadron State on Thursday and a 63-33 win over Converse on Friday before losing to Lake Erie, 84-76, on Saturday.

Sam Tolliver put up 31 points and added five assists, four rebounds and a block in the win over Chadron State. She made 12 of 20 from the field and 3 of 5 from three-point range.

Kylie Wallace recorded a double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds to go with an assist and a steal in the win over Chadron State. Jocelyn Gandara also scored 17 points in the game. Gandara led the Nanooks in the loss to Lake Erie with 25 points, nine rebounds and two assists.

Sabrina Ungaro led the Nanooks with 15 points in Friday’s win over Converse. Brittany Richards registered a double-double in the game with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

• Alaska is now 5-4 on the season and will open GNAC play this week as the Nanooks host Western Oregon on Thursday and Concordia on Saturday.

ALASKA ANCHORAGE
• Alaska Anchorage went 2-1 on its Florida road trip. The Seawolves dropped a tough 53-52 game to Lynn on Wednesday before bouncing back to top Barry, 60-41, on Friday and Nova Southeastern, 85-47, on Saturday.

Yazmeen Goo remained consistent to lead the Seawolves in the three games. Goo scored 32 points on the week and added 10 rebounds, seven assists, six steals and a block. Her best performance was against Barry as she recorded 13 points, connecting on 5 of 7 from the field, and adding six rebounds, two assists and two steals.

• A full team effort led the Seawolves to the 85-47 rout of the Sharks. Nicole Pinckney scored 13 points on 5 of 10 from the field. The Seawolves also scored 40 points off of 34 turnovers by the Sharks.

Sala Langi scored 12 points and added three steals, an assist and a block off the bench against the Sharks. Stephanie Jackson also shined off the bench with 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

• The Seawolves are ranked No. 18 in the latest D2SIDA poll, six spots down from the previous week.

• Alaska Anchorage is now 7-1 and open conference play at home as the Seawolves host Concordia on Thursday and Western Oregon on Saturday.

CENTRAL WASHINGTON
• Central Washington split its games at the Holiday Inn Denver Cherry Creek Classic in Denver, Colorado. The Wildcats topped Colorado Christian, 60-48, on Friday then lost a close 69-67 game to host Metro State on Saturday.

Alexis Pana was named the GNAC Player of the Week after she led the Wildcats with 40 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and two steals in the two games. She shot 44.8 percent from the field and was perfect at the free throw line, nailing 8 of 8. Pana scored 12 points against Colorado Christian then posted a game-high 28 points on 9 of 17 from the field against Metro State.

Samantha Bowman led the Wildcats in scoring against Colorado Christian with 17 points to add to five rebounds. Bowman tops the GNAC and ranks 28th in Division II with a .603 field goal percentage.

• The Wildcats lead the conference and rank 42nd in Division II with a .449 field goal percentage while also ranking 25th with 30 blocked shots.

• Central Washington stands at an even 5-5 record. The Wildcats will open GNAC play at home as they host Seattle Pacific on Thursday and Saint Martin’s on Saturday.

CONCORDIA
• Concordia lost both of its games at home last week. The Cavaliers lost 76-58 to Southwest Minnesota State on Friday then lost again to Point Loma, 75-44, on Saturday.

Abby Aplaca scored in double digits against Southwest Minnesota State with 15 points to add to five rebounds and three assists. She ranks fourth in the GNAC with a .478 three-point percentage.

Olivia Vezaldenos led the Cavs against Point Loma with 11 points, shooting 4 of 14 from the field and making 3 of 4 from the free throw line. Vezaldenos is tied for the conference lead and ranks 19th in Division II with 22 three-pointers made. She also ranks 32nd with 104 field goal attempts.

Abby Zhang scored 11 points off the bench for the Cavs against Point Loma while adding two steals and an assist. She made all three of the Cavs’ three-pointers, connecting on 3 of 9 from deep.

• Concordia is now 1-7 on the season and will open conference play on the road as the Cavs travel north to face Alaska Anchorage on Thursday and Alaska on Saturday.

MONTANA STATE BILLINGS
• Montana State Billings did not play last week. The Yellowjackets won both of their games at home two weeks ago with a 75-49 victory over Corban on Monday and a 68-54 victory over Chadron State on Saturday.

• The Yellowjackets limited Corban to just 18 total points in the second half and forced 19 turnovers for 28 points.

• Four Yellowjackets scored in double digits against the Warriors. Shayla Montague scored 14 points to add to eight rebounds while Emily St. John and Jeanann Lemelin put up 12 points apiece.

Taryn Shelley led the Yellowjackets with a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds while adding two assists, a steal and a block against the Warriors. Shelley also registered a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in the win over the Eagles.

Hannah Collins connected on 8 of 14 from the field to score 22 points to lead the Yellowjackets in the win over the Eagles.

• Montana State Billings remained idle at 3-4. The Yellowjackets open GNAC play this week, playing at Simon Fraser on Thursday and Western Washington on Saturday.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE
• Northwest Nazarene won its only game of the week with a 90-61 win over Whitworth on Tuesday.

• The Nighthawks scored 44 points off of 41 turnovers by the Pirates. The Nighthawks dominated in the paint as well with 56 points.

Avery Albrecht was brilliant against the Pirates. She led the Nighthawks with 21 points, shooting 80 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range. Albrecht also had four rebounds, three steals and two assists in the win.

Marina Valles scored 14 points and recorded seven rebounds, six steals, five assists and a block. She ranks second in Division II with 35 steals and five steals per game.

McKenna Emerson also went off for 15 points, six rebounds and five steals against the Pirates. The Nighthawks rank third in Division II with 116 steals and 16.6 steals per game while also ranking 12th with 24.86 turnovers forced per game.

• Northwest Nazarene improved to 4-3 on the season with the win. Up next, the Nighthawks will open conference play at home, hosting Saint Martin’s on Thursday and Seattle Pacific on Saturday.

SAINT MARTIN’S
• Saint Martin’s won its only game of the week with a 75-60 victory over Texas A&M International.

• Four Saints scored in double digits against the Dustdevils. Bria Thames registered a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds to add to four steals and two assists. Janealle Sutterlict also had a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists while adding five rebounds and two steals.

Mallory Vivola led the Saints in scoring with 17 points. She connected on 6 of 16 from the field and 4 of 9 from outside. Vivola leads the GNAC and ranks 24th in Division II with a .500 three-point field goal percentage.

Claire Dingus just missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. She ranks 14th in Division II with 4.4 offensive rebounds per game.

• Saint Martin’s improved to 3-2 on the season. The Saints will hit the road for GNAC play as they play at Northwest Nazarene on Thursday and Central Washington on Saturday.

SEATTLE PACIFIC
• Seattle Pacific did not play last week. The Falcons fell 66-55 to Colorado Mines then lost to Regis, 62-53, at their own Sodexo Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 22-23.

Abril Rexach Roure led the Falcons with 19 points, connecting on 5 of 8 shots from the field and 2 of 3 from three-point range while also shooting 77.8 percent from the free throw line in the loss to the Orediggers. She also scored 13 points in the loss to the Rangers.

Ashlynn Burgess came up just short of a double-double against Regis as she put up 12 points and nine rebounds. She is 13th in the conference with 13 points per game and 12th with 6.2 rebounds per game.

• Seattle Pacific will look to pick up its first win of the season as the Falcons open GNAC play at Central Washington on Thursday and Northwest Nazarene on Saturday.

SIMON FRASER
• Simon Fraser did not play last week. The Clan did, however, open GNAC play on Tuesday with a thrilling 64-60 win at home over Western Washington.

• The Clan shot 43.9 percent from the field and 43.8 percent from three-point range in the win over the Vikings.

Georgia Swant led the Clan with 20 points in a game of perfection. Swant connected on 8 of 8 from the field and 3 of 3 from behind the arc while also hitting her only field goal attempt.

Jessica Jones finished just short of a double-double with 15 points and eight rebounds. She also had three assists in the win. Jones tops the conference and ranks 19th in Division II with 22 three-pointers made.

• The Clan is now 6-5 overall and 1-0 to start conference play. Up next, the Clan will host Montana State Billings on Thursday.

WESTERN OREGON
• Western Oregon went 0-2 at home last week with a 51-42 loss to Texas A&M International on Friday and a 70-62 loss to Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday.

Keyonna Jones scored 15 points on 7 of 11 from the field in the loss to the Dustdevils.

Cali McClave shot 50 percent from the field and 60 percent from outside to total 18 points in the loss to the Mustangs. McClave also made all seven of her free throw attempts.

• Western Oregon dropped to 2-4 and will look to bounce back as the Wolves open GNAC play at Alaska on Thursday and Alaska Anchorage on Saturday.

WESTERN WASHINGTON
• Western Washington remained idle last week then opened GNAC play with a 64-60 loss at Simon Fraser on Tuesday.

Emma Duff heated up in the loss to the Clan with a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds, shooting 43.8 percent from the field.

Anna Schwecke also put up 17 points, connecting on 7 of 11 from the field and making 75 percent of her free throws. She also had four rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in the loss. Schwecke is 15th in the GNAC with 11.8 points per game and seventh with 7.3 rebounds per game.

• The Vikings are ranked tied for No. 7 in the latest D2SIDA West Region rankings.

• Western Washington is 4-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Up next, the Vikings will return home to host Montana State Billings on Saturday.
