ATLANTA, Georgia - Western Washington University women's basketball coach Carmen Dolfowill begin her fifth year, the second of a second three-year term, on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Board of Directors.

Dolfo represents NCAA Division II coaches in Group II, which consists of the South, South Central, Central and West regions. She has served on the WBCA board since 2008.

All terms for the 2012-13 academic year begin Aug. 1 or on the date of the WBCA Executive Committee and WBCA Board of Directors summer meeting in Atlanta.

Founded in 1981, the WBCA promotes women's basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game in all of its aspects as a sport for women and girls.

Dolfo is beginning her 22nd season as head coach at WWU and 17th year as the school's senior women's administrator. She also has served on the Kodak All-American Selection Committee as well as the WBCA national and West Region rating committees.

Dolfo has a 446-169 record with a winning percentage of 72.5 in 21 seasons directing the women's basketball program at WWU, leading the Vikings to 19 post-season appearances. She is the winningest women's coach in school history and ranks No. 18 among active NCAA II women's basketball coaches in victories and No. 12 in winning percentage. Dolfo ranks No. 24 in winning percentage among NCAA II coaches all-time and No. 35 in wins.

Last season, Dolfo directed WWU to a 22-8 record and the semifinals of the West Regional, the school's 13th regional appearance in 14 seasons as a NCAA II member
