ANDAYA PUTS HER NAME IN RECORD BOOK: Central Washington sophomore Tia Andaya has been a GNAC player for all of 11 matches but she has already etched her name in the conference record book.

In the Wildcats’ lone match of the week, a five-set win over Northwest Nazarene on Friday, Andaya recorded her fifth triple-double of the season with 14 kills, 21 assists and 17 digs to go with six blocks and two aces. The five triple-doubles matches the conference single-season record set by Northwest Nazarene’s Kaitlyn Tuholski in 2011.

Andaya, a transfer this season from Division I Gonzaga, is one of just four players in the conference to have five triple-doubles in their career. She is already closing in on the career record of nine set by NNU’s Mindy Swanson between 2001 and 2003.

Andaya is one of 26 Division II players to record triple-doubles this season. Second on the list is Heather Pedrick of Wilmington with four.

RUNNING THE BLOCK: The GNAC has, year in and year out, been one of the top conferences in Division II in terms of blocking. This season is no different.

Central Washington is ranked 15th with 2.47 blocks per set and Montana State Billings rounds out the top-50 with 2.12 blocks per set to rank 50th.

Seattle Pacific freshman Hannah Hair leads three GNAC players in the Division II top-30, ranked sixth at 1.46 blocks per set. Western Washington junior Olivia Fairchild is ninth with 1.36 blocks per set while Alaska senior Emily Moorhead is 18th with 1.23 blocks per set.
