From Interstate 5 Northbound:
Take Exit 249 (Commercial Street). Follow Commercial intoSalem, and as you near downtown, Commercial will curve to the right and becomeLiberty Street. Stay onLiberty until you reach Marion Street. Turn left, cross the Marion Street Bridge. Merge into the left lane and take Highway 22 West. Continue on Highway 22 about 10 miles to exit 16 (Monmouth/McMinnville). Exit right on the overpass, and then turn right again and merge on to Highway 99W. Continue about five miles into Monmouth and turn right on Jackson Street. Stay on Jackson past the first entrance to WOU and continue all the way to Stadium Drive. Turn right on Stadium Drive and make another right into the McArthur Field parking lot.

Alternate Northbound Route:
Take Interstate 5 Exit 228 and follow highway 34 towardsCorvallis. After crossing theWillametteRiver intoCorvallis, turn right onto scenic highway 99W at the second light past the bridge. Continue north about 20 miles and follow the signs to Monmouth and the WOU campus. McArthur Field is onStadium Drive.

Interstate 5 Southbound:
Take exit 260-A (Salem Parkway) and follow into Salem until it merges with Commercial Street. Continue on Commercial to Marion Street, and then turn right and cross theMarion Street bridge. Merge into the left lane and take Highway 22 West. Continue on Highway 22 about 10 miles to exit 16 (Monmouth/McMinnville). Exit right on the overpass, and then bear right again and merge on to Highway 99W/Southbound. Continue about five miles into Monmouth and turn right on Jackson Street. Stay on Jackson past the first entrance to WOU and continue all the way to Stadium Drive. Turn right on Stadium Drive and make another right into the McArthur Field parking lot.

The meet and appeals committee will be comprised of three officials, along with two alternates to be appointed by the conference commissioner.  If one of the members is involved in the protest, an alternate will replace them on the committee.

Appeal Process
Any appeal must be made in writing to the meet director within 30 minutes following the posting or announcement of the official results of that event. The appeal must detail the rule and reason for the petition and the expected resolution and be accompanied by a $50 fee. The fee will be returned if the protest is upheld. Protest table will be located at Awards Table.

An area for posting of results during the meet and the posting of protests, the referees’ ruling and any subsequent appeals shall be designated and will be announced at Friday’s coaches meeting. Results will be compiled using Meet Pro software. A printer and copy machine will be available to make “quick” copies for coaches. Results will also be periodically updated on the conference web site. An “html” file of the results will also be posted on the conference web site and e-mailed to all GNAC SIDs, head coaches and uploaded to TFRRS as soon as possible at the end of the meet. 

Individual event awards will be presented as time permits during the meet at a designated location on the infield. The team championship plaques and Outstanding Meet Performer awards will be awarded in a special ceremony to begin to no later than 20 minutes following the conclusion of the meet. The remaining conference awards will be selected following the NCAA Division II national meet.

Information on tickets will be announced prior to meet.  GNAC passes will be honored.

Coaches, athletes and athletic trainers will enter through the pass gate. Participants & coaches will enter with their wristbands provided at the Friday afternoon coaches meeting. Coaches will also receive OFFICIAL credentials, along with the trainers and other officials at the coaches meeting. Athletic trainer credentials will allow field access. Credentials are not transferable.

Parking Lot G for participant and spectator parking.  Only parking lot that is free on WOU Campus.

Conference season-best marks are compiled using the NCAA Track and Field Result Reporting System (TFRRS).  Any corrections must be reported to TFRRS (by the school hosting the meet in which the error occurs) no later than noon (Pacific) on the Monday prior to the meet.  Each school must declare their entries to Direct Athletics by 8 p.m. (Pacific) Monday.  Each school shall also e-mail their wild card entries and preferences to the GNAC information office by 8 p.m. Monday ([email protected]).  Any scratches after 8 p.m. on Monday will result in athlete being eliminated from the meet.  The host school shall download the final entry list from Direct Athletics and develop heats and lane assignments under the guidelines provided by the conference office.  The host school shall then e-mail to the conference office the “html” and “word” files for use on the conference web site.  The conference office shall e-mail the heat and flight sheets to the coaches as soon as they are available.  Extra copies will also be available at Friday’s coaches meeting. The conference office shall also work with the host school to make sure copies of the heat sheets are made for insertion in the meet programs.

Declarations for the Multi-Events (Apr. 28-29 at CWU) are to be declared on Direct Athletics and also sent to the conference office no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 24.  (E-mail to: [email protected]).  The time schedule for the multi-events will be announced as soon as it’s available.

Coaches Mandatory Technical Meeting
The coaches' meeting will be Friday, May 9 at noon (PT) at WOU. Meet packets will be issued at this time. Attendance by at least one coach from each school is required. Additional coaches are welcome.                    

Scoring in individual events and relays will be on a 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis (per NCAA rule book).

Implement Weigh-In
Weigh-in for all implements will be Friday from 11:30 a.m.– 3 p.m. Implements will be accepted Thursday from 3-5 p.m. to be held for weigh-in on Friday.  Please have all implements clearly marked with your institutions name. The GNAC and WOU will not be responsible for any lost or misplaced equipment. Officials will deliver the certified implements to the event area prior to the event. Those implements that do not meet specifications will be impounded and need to be picked up at the conclusion of the meet.  Only meet-certified implements are allowed at the event area. Implements may be stored Friday night in the stadium.

No event calls will be made.  Athletes and coaches are responsible for reporting to their event at the appropriate time based on the published meet schedule. Athletes in track events must check-in by 30 minutes prior to the start, but may check-in up to 60 minutes prior to the start of competition.  Field events check-in no later than 20 minutes prior to the start of competition. 

Starting Heights/Increments
Starting heights and increments for the men’s and women’s pole vault and high jump will be determined by the Standards committee on the Tuesday prior to the meet and will be reviewed at the coaches meeting on Friday.

Event Qualifying For the Finals
Preliminaries for the men’s and women’s 100 meters, men’s and women’s 200 meters, men’s and women’s 400 meters, men’s and women’s 800 meters,  men’s 110 meter hurdles, women’s 100 meter hurdles and men’s and women’s 400 meter hurdles will be held on Friday.  The seeding is per NCAA regulations. Under GNAC regulations, each heat must have a minimum of three runners. Hand-held times may be used to qualify for the meet, but will not be considered for seeding purposes in events shorter than 400 meters. Each school is entitled to one wild card in the heptathlon and one wild card in the decathlon.  In addition, each school is also entitled to two additional unrestricted wild cards in each gender.  In field events with preliminaries, the top nine marks will advance to the final.

Practice Times
The Western Oregon University’s McArthur Field/Stadium facility will be available Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday beginning at 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The host institution shall provide athletic trainers and any additional medical personnel they deem necessary. The athletic trainers shall arrive no later than 90 minutes prior to the start of the meet and shall be available until all athletes have left the site following the awards ceremony. The host athletic trainer shall send a written report to the conference office of any injuries that occurred during the event. Each institution will be responsible for providing insurance for each of its participants. Visiting trainers planning to attend should request credentials from the conference office by May 8.
