Tuesday, May 4, 2021

PORTLAND, Ore. – Health and safety protocols within the Central Washington University softball program have forced the Wildcats to withdraw from the 2021 GNAC Softball Championships.

The Wildcats, who finished the regular season with a 17-14 overall record, were the No. 2 seed in the Championships after finishing second in the GNAC standings with a 9-7 record.

The conference’s contingency plans, adopted by the GNAC Management Council earlier this spring, state when an advancing team withdraws from participation related to COVID-19 before travel, the spot in the tournament will be filled by the next team in the conference standings. The remaining teams will move up in their seeds as appropriate.
