SEASIDE, Calif. - Western Oregon defeated Sonoma State 4-3 but then lost to Cal Baptist 10-0 Friday in the NCAA West Regional, ending the Wolves post-season run.

Meanwhile at St. George, Utah, Central Washington fell to Dixie State 8-6 in a first-round regional contest.  The Wildcats face Humboldt State Saturday in a loser-out game at 1:30 p.m.  The Lumberjacks lost their first game 10-6 in eight innings to UC San Diego.

WOU scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally from a 3-2 deficit in its win.    Jourdan Williams singled with one out and then the Wolves took advantage of two errors and a wild pitch to go ahead.

Pitcher Kelli Demianew then retired Sonoma in order in the seventh to secure the win.  Demianew didn't allow a run and gave up just two hits in 4 1/3 innings of relief to record her 17th win against 11 losses.

Western Oregon's first two runs came in the first inning on a triple by Amanda Evola.  The Seawolves, who finished their season witha 38-23 record, scored single runs in the first, second and third to take the lead.

WOU finished the contest with just four hits, two by second baseman Kelsie Gardner.

The Wolves had just one hit in their five-inning loss to Cal Baptist, a fourth-inning double by Jourdan Williams as starter Belinda Renne tossed the first four innings.  WOU ended its season with a 33-23 record.  Demianew took her 12th loss of the season.

Central Washington led 5-3 in its game against Dixie State, but the Red Storm scored four runs in the third to go ahead 6-5.  Central tied the game 6-6 in the sixth on a double by Kailyn Campbell - her third of the game - before Dixie scored twice in the bottom of the frame on a home run by Sheila Gelter to earn the win.

CWU outhit Dixie 14-11.  In addition to Campbell's three, the Wildcats (30-19) got two each from Sammy Morris, Maikala Galusha, Andrea Hamada and Michaela Hazlett.  Hamada had a two-run double in the third.
