Thunderstorms Postpone GNAC Softball Championships

LACEY, Wash. – A cell of severe thunderstorms that moved through the Puget Sound region on Thursday forced the suspension of Thursday’s second game of the GNAC Championships and the shuffling of the remainder of the tournament schedule.

The second game between No. 1 seed Central Washington and No. 4 seed Western Oregon was suspended at 4:40 p.m. The game was stopped in the middle of the third inning with Central Washington leading 2-1.

The two teams will complete game two on Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. (Pacific).

The remainder of the championships schedule will be moved back an entire day and is as follows…

Sat., May. 6
Game 3: Western Washington vs. Central Washington/Western Oregon winner, 10 a.m.
Game 4: Saint Martin’s vs. Central Washington/Western Oregon loser, 12:30 p.m.
Game 5: Winner of Game 4 vs. Loser Game 3, 3 p.m.

Sun., May 7
Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 5, Noon
Winner Game 6 vs. Loser Game 6 (if necessary), 2:30 p.m.
