LACEY, Wash. – The search for the Saints' next women's golf coach did not have to go far.

With Bob Grisham announcing his retirement in June 2022, current assistant coach Anne Bahr has been named the next head coach.

"I am pleased to announce that Anne Bahr has accepted the position of Head Women's golf coach," Grisham said. "Anne has been in the program the past three years as my assistant and has been an integral part of the overall operation of the program and our successes. She brings collegiate playing experience and a passion for the game of golf with the understanding of what is involved in being an NCAA Division II student-athlete."

Grisham took over as head coach position of the women's golf team in 2001. During his 20-year tenure, Grisham led the Saints to the NCAA West Regional in 2009, where they placed third overall. The third-place finish still marks the highest finish in program history. Last season, the Saints claimed their first GNAC individual champion in Kathryn Crimp as well as a GNAC runner-up in Hoku Nagamine.

Bahr joined the Saints' staff in the summer of 2019. In three seasons with the Saints, Bahr helped guide the team to their historic finish at the 2021 GNAC Championships, which also yielded three all-conference selections, and a team-high second-place finish at the 2019 Saint Martin's Invitational.

"I am extremely excited to be the new head women's golf coach at Saint Martin's," said Bahr. "I am looking forward to continuing to build upon the success and culture Coach Grisham and I have established.  I want to thank the university and administration for giving me this opportunity."

Before joining Saint Martin's, Bahr played at Division I Eastern Illinois for four seasons. Playing in 36 tournaments, Bahr led the team in stroke average her sophomore and junior seasons. She holds four top-10 records in the program's history books and was named team captain her senior year.

Grisham will finish his 20th season as the Saints' head coach, and Bahr will assume the role of head coach in July 2022.
