PORTLAND, Ore. – Simon Fraser’s Jessica Wisotzki and Alaska Anchorage’s Oggie Pantovic both used a pair of solid scoring performances against quality opponents to pick up the GNAC Player of the Week Awards.

Wisotzki was named the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 29.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in two contests in San Diego, shooting 57.5 percent from the field and 70 percent from three-point range. The sophomore guard/forward came alive for 32 points in Friday’s 85-75 win over Concordia Irvine to go with five rebounds, three assists and two steals. She shot 12 of 18 from the field, 5 of 6 from three-point range and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line.

Wisotzki added a 27-point performance in Saturday’s 81-75 loss to Point Loma. She also finished with eight rebounds and two steals on a night where she shot 11 of 22 from the field and 2 of 4 from outside.

Pantovic, a senior forward, was named the Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after he averaged 21.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game to be selected as the Most Outstanding Player at the Seawolf Thanksgiving Classic. Pantovic opened his week with 15 points and nine rebounds in Saturday’s 81-66 win over Quincy, making 6 of 12 from the field.

In Saturday’s 100-97 overtime win over No. 19 Hawaii Hilo, Pantovic finished with 28 points, six rebounds, five blocks, two assists and two steals. He connected on 12 of 19 from the field, including 4 of 5 in the extra period, which accounted for most of UAA’s points in the final five minutes.

(Alaska Anchorage, F, 6-7, Sr., Kovin, Serbia – Utah State Eastern): Pantovic average 21.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 58.1 percent from the floor to be named the Most Outstanding Player at the Seawolf Thanksgiving Classic. Pantovic opened the week with totals of 15 points and nine rebounds in Saturday’s 81-66 win over Quincy. He then led UAA with 28 points on 12 of 19 from the floor, including 4 of 5 in overtime, to go with six rebounds, five blocks, two steals and two assists in Sunday’s 100-97 overtime win over No. 19 Hawaii Pacific. Wisotzki scored 32 points in Fridays’ 85-75 win over Concordia Irvine, connecting on 12 of 18 from the field and 5 of 6 from three-point range to go with five rebounds, three assists and two steals. She then led SFU with 27 points in Saturday’s 81-75 loss to Point Loma, shooting 11 of 22 from the field to go with eight rebounds and two blocks.
