PORTLAND, Ore. – One of three players to earn a rare four-time selection, Western Oregon senior offensive lineman Jakob Pruitt headlines 48 student-athletes named to the 2021 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Football All-Academic Team, presented by Barnes & Noble College.

Pruitt has started six of the Wolves’ eight games this season and has helped anchor a WOU line that has allowed the offense to average 348.6 yards of total offense per game.

Pruitt, who has a 3.85 GPA as a criminal justice major, is one of three four-time All-Academic Team selections. Central Washington senior offensive lineman Will Ortner, who owns a 3.72 GPA as a digital journalism major, and Simon Fraser senior wide receiver Dallas Dixon, who has a 3.65 GPA as a kinesiology major, join Pruitt on the four-time list.

The trio is among 27 repeat honorees to the team. Six players were named to the squad for the third time: Central Washington junior Isaiah Carbajal and Wildcats senior Donte Hamilton, Simon Fraser junior Aidan Pearce and Western Oregon juniors Isaiah Abraham, Mack Little and Ryan Worthley.

A total of 13 student-athletes on the All-Academic Team have a 3.6 GPA or higher. The list is led by Central Washington senior Van Soderberg, who has the lone 4.0 GPA as a Russian studies major. Soderberg is one of a conference-leading 31 honorees for Central Washington.

To qualify for the GNAC All-Academic Teams, presented by Barnes & Noble College, nominees must be of sophomore eligibility or greater, have a minimum cumulative GPA or 3.20 or greater, be a letterwinner on their team and must be in their second year at the nominating institution.

Thanks to eligibility waivers provided by the NCAA due to the cancellation of the 2020 season, players who continue to hold freshman eligibility but are in their second season of competition at the nominating institution were eligible for selection to the GNAC All-Academic Team.
