BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Former Western Washington University women’s soccer player Peyton Chick has signed a professional contract to continue her soccer career overseas in Israel.

Chick will break on to the professional soccer scene with Hapoel Ra'anana A.F.C. in the second division of the Israeli Football Association.

Chick, a native of Kent and product of Kentridge High School, played four seasons for the Vikings from 2016-19. She appeared in a school-record 93 games during her collegiate career, with the Vikings going 83-8-3 during her time in the program.

She capped her WWU career in 2019 being selected as a Second Team All-American by D2CCA and was selected as the Most Outstanding Defensive Player during the 2019 NCAA Division II Championships.

A versatile player during her career, Chick finished with 22 assists to rank seventh in WWU history and tied for 20th in Great Northwest Athletic Conference history. As a freshman the Vikings won the NCAA Division II national championship and as a senior WWU earned runner-up honors.

During WWU’s run to the national title match in 2019, Chick recorded five assists in six postseason matches.

Chick joins a lengthy list of recent Vikings that have played professionally in recent years, including 2016 National Player of the year Sierra Shugarts (Sweden, Czech Republic), 2016 NCAA II Championships Offensive MVP Caitlyn Jobanek (Sweden, Denmark), two-time All-American Gabriela Pelogi (Finland, Israel) and 2019 First Team All-American Karli White (Japan).
