NORMAN, Okla. – After completing his career with the Montana State University Billings men's golf team last spring, Connor Miele has been named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on July 26.

"I am very happy for Connor to receive this great honor," said MSUB head coach Kevin Woodin. "In order to be recognized, one must excel both on the course and in the classroom. Connor definitely did that for our Yellowjacket golf program, and I feel very fortunate to have worked with him at MSUB."

To qualify for the award, individuals must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of their team's rounds, hold a scoring average of 78 or lower and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20.

Miele was a two-time academic all-conference selection for the Yellowjackets, and carried a scoring average of 76.2 strokes per round during the 2016-17 season. Miele twice earned Great Northwest Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week honors during his career, and was named MSUB's Men's Golf Player of the Year as a junior in 2015-16. He attained a grade point average of 3.55 while completing his degree in management.

A total of 108 male golfers at the NCAA Division II level earned the award from the GCAA, and among them Miele was the lone representative from the GNAC.
