PORTLAND, Ore. – Six GNAC teams from four schools were named 2021-22 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award recipients. Montana State Billings and Seattle Pacific had both their men’s and women’s teams recognized. Saint Martin’s had its men’s program honored and Northwest Nazarene had its women’s program honored.

Teams are recognized for having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The head coach must be a member of the United Soccer Coaches to be nominated. A total of 813 programs (307 men, 506 women) were honored. Of those teams, 156 institutions had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.

Both of Seattle Pacific’s 2021 GNAC championship-winning programs were honored with the women’s team having a 3.57 GPA while the men posted a 3.11 GPA. Montana State Billings women’s team had a 3.67 GPA while their men’s team had a cumulative GPA of 3.41. This is the 19th year that United Soccer Coaches has recognized MSUB with the Team Academic Award and the 15th year that Seattle Pacific has been honored.

Saint Martin’s men’s team was also honored with a 3.43 GPA. Northwest Nazarene’s women’s squad was recognized for its 3.37 GPA.
