BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Saturday afternoon’s Western Washington / Simon Fraser men’s basketball game at Sam Carver Gymnasium will be nationally televised on the CBS Sports Network.

The game will be the first of three GNAC games that will be televised over the next eight days.

Next Saturday (Mar. 9) both the GNAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship games at Saint Martin’s University’s Marcus Pavilion will be televised on ROOT Sports.

The women’s title game will begin at 5:15 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m.

This Saturday’s SFU/WWU game will tip off at 1:05 p.m.  It is the final regular season game for both teams.  WWU (16-1) can set a GNAC record for most regular-season conference victories with a victory.

Three GNAC teams have previously finished their conference seasons with 16-2 records – Alaska Anchorage during the 2007-08 season, Central Washington in the 2010-11 season and the Vikings last year.

Jason Knapp will handle the play-by-play of Saturday's game.  Lisa Byington will provide color commentary and Cat Anderson will serve as  the sideline reporter.  Simon Fraser's story about becoming the first Canadian NCAA team will be highlighted in a halftime feature.

It is the Vikings' third appearance on national TV in less than a year. Last season's national semifinal game was televised on the CBS Sports Network and the title contest on CBS TV.

Brad Adam will call the action on both GNAC championship games next Saturday on ROOT Sports with Bill Krueger providing color commentary
