PORTLAND, Ore. - Two wins including one over long-time Canyon County rival College of Idaho has earned Northwest Nazarene the GNAC Team of the Week award.

The wins extended NNU’s win streak to three games and improved its overall record to 6-3.   The Crusaders have just one non-conference game left on their schedule – Dec. 29 against Montana Tech – before resuming GNAC play on Jan. 3 against the University of Alaska Anchorage.

UCLA transfer Kenny Jones paced NNU in the two wins with 43 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals.  Jones was selected the GNAC Red Lion Player of the Week.

On the season, Jones leads the Crusaders in scoring and ranks third in the GNAC with a 17.8 average.  He also leads NNU in steals with 13 and ranks second on the team in assists with 29.

Jonathan Hawkins scored 26 points in the two wins, making 10 of 10 free throws, while Keith Moilanen had 20 points.

Kevin Rima led the team in rebounds with 11.  Hawkins and Grayson Moore each had 10 rebounds.
