PORTLAND, Ore. – Seattle Pacific University and Western Washington University have repeated as recipients of the NCAA Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence, honoring Division II institutions with superior academic achievement.

The two GNAC institutions are among 44 members to earn the honor, recognizing institutions that achieved a four-year cohort (2012-15) Academic Success Rate of 90% or higher. The NCAA and the U.S. federal government measure time to graduate within a six-year window of first-time enrollment.

Seattle Pacific is among eight institutions which has received the award all 12 years it has been given. Other 12-year award recipients include Assumption, Bentley, Eckard, Hillsdale, Rockhurst, Rollins and Saint Michael’s. Seattle Pacific achieved a 92% Academic Success Rate.

Western Washington was recognized for the fifth time in the last six years. The Vikings achieved an Academic Success Rate of 91%, up one percentage point from last year.

Seattle Pacific and Western Washington were among just five West Region institutions to earn the Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence.
