DALLAS, Texas – Mike Peterson has led the Western Oregon rotation all season long. Last week was no different.

After earning his second GNAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week award of the season on Monday, the senior was also named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II West Region Pitcher of the Week.

Peterson improved to 3-0 on the season after earning the win in the Wolves’ 4-0 series-opening shutout of Saint Martin’s at home on Friday. He tossed eight strong innings and faced just two batters over the minimum, allowing one hit and striking out nine. Of his 101 pitches, 70 were for strikes.

Peterson leads the GNAC with three walks allowed in 23 innings pitched. He is second in the conference with three wins and a 1.57 earned run average and third with 14 hits allowed and a .175 opposing batting average.

Western Oregon is 9-3 in conference play (10-4 overall). The Wolves moved up two spots to No. 3 in the latest NCBWA Division II West Region Rankings.
