PORTLAND, Ore. – GNAC Insider returned Tuesday at 7 p.m. (PT) as the fall season is slowly coming to an end. The show was joined by two student-athletes in the midst of postseason play.

Anchoring the GNAC’s top defense in women’s soccer, senior defender Emily Nelson joined the show. Nelson was selected as the GNAC Defensive Player of the Year after she led a Viking defense that allowed just eight goals in 20 matches.

The Vikings claimed the GNAC title with a 2-1 win over Seattle Pacific on Saturday at the Falcons’ Interbay Stadium and earned the conference’s automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Championships. The Vikings will be the No. 3 seed in the West Region and will face the No. 6 seed in the region, Stanislaus State, in Rohnert Park, California.

Getting ready for Saturday’s NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Sacramento, California, Seattle Pacific junior Dania Holmberg also joined the show. Holmberg finished in fourth place at the GNAC Championships in a time of 22:02.5 then finished second at the West Region Championships in 20:49.5. Led by Holmberg, the Falcons earned an at-large selection to the national meet.
