PORTLAND, Ore. – Dr. Rex Fuller, president at Western Oregon University since 2015, has been appointed to the NCAA Division II Presidents Council and will begin a four-year term in January.

The highest governance office in Division II, the Presidents Council is comprised of 16 members, all of whom serve as presidents or chancellors at their respective institutions. The council is charged with setting the strategic direction for the division in all areas, including the division’s financial affairs and championships administration. The council is also the primary sponsor of legislative proposals at the NCAA Convention.

Dr. Fuller earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Chico State University and a doctorate in economics from the University of Utah. He went on to teach in the Department of Economics at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, eventually becoming dean of the College of Business Administration. From there, he moved to Colorado State University-Pueblo, where he served as dean of the Hasan School of Business. Before coming to Monmouth, Dr. Fuller was dean, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Eastern Washington University.

Fuller is one of 14 administrators, coaches and student-athletes from the GNAC selected to serve on NCAA national committees.
