PORTLAND, Ore. – Guests for Episode 43 of GNAC Insider included Seattle Pacific athletic director Erin O’Connell and Central Washington head men’s basketball coach Greg Sparling.

O’Connell is in her sixth year leading Falcons athletics. Under her administration, the Falcons' soccer teams have won a combined 164 matches, and, during her time as the interim director in 2008, the SPU women’s soccer team won the national championship. O’Connell discussed an SPU men’s soccer team that received a first round bye and will host the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament. O'Connell also talked about the success of the women’s team. The women's squad is making its 12th consecutive NCAA postseason appearance after claiming the GNAC tournament title last weekend.

In his 20th season coaching the Wildcats, Sparling has won a combined 322 total games which is third most in school history. Sparling has guided the Wildcats to eight NCAA tournament appearances and has five conference championships to his name. CWU has already made 18 three-pointers in one game this season and could be a dark horse contender heading into the conference season. Sparling talked about his teams last game and previewed the Wildcats upcoming match-ups at the Seattle Pacific Sodexo Tip-Off Classic this weekend.

GNAC Insider airs live at 7 p.m. Pacific time every Tuesday and is produced by the conference office. All episodes become available as free podcasts via iTunes, and for archived listening via GNAC.TV.
