PORTLAND, Ore. – “GNAC Insider,” the weekly online radio show featuring newsmakers in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, returns this month for its second season. The first show is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. PDT.

The 30-minute broadcast, which can be heard live or on demand, focuses on interviews with student-athletes, coaches and athletic administrators.

“We’re excited about bringing GNAC personalities and the latest conference news to our many followers through this versatile platform,” said Great Northwest Athletic Conference commissioner Dave Haglund. “Whether fans listen live or via podcast, GNAC Insider is always available when they are. There were thousands of 'listens' during our debut season last year, and now GNAC Insider has become a featured element in our continuous efforts to raise the conference profile through various multi-media initiatives.”

In addition to publishing live content on Tuesday nights throughout the year, the GNAC will immediately push finished episodes of GNAC Insider to the iTunes store for syndication. By going to this iTunes link, fans can complete a one-time sign-up for a free subscription which will enable them to listen to GNAC Insider at their convenience on devices of their choosing.

Haglund said the 2014-15 edition of the show will be hosted by a true conference insider – veteran broadcasting talent Robert Lowery, who has been a play-by-play announcer in the GNAC since the NCAA Division II league was formed in 2001. This fall, Lowery begins season No. 28 as the “voice” of the Central Washington Wildcats. Last March, Lowery called all the play-by-play action of the conference men's and women's basketball championships on GNAC.TV.

“Rob Lowery is a consummate professional and someone who is intimately familiar with everything about the GNAC, past and present,” Haglund said. “He has a very comfortable and engaging interviewing style, and his vast knowledge of the conference and Division II will serve our listeners extremely well. We’re honored to have him in this capacity.”

Nathan Webber, a media relations assistant in the conference office, will be the show's coordinating producer. Bob Guptill, the GNAC's information director, will oversee publicity and marketing of the show.

With the exception of a three-week break in December, GNAC Insider will air live Tuesday nights through mid-May.
